Surfing in KauaiEven if you are not a surfer you have probably heard of the amazing waves in Hawaii. That is no rumor and the waves are in fact out of this world. Because of this surfers from all over arrive in Kauai for great surfing and big waves. In fact, Hanalei Bay is one of the best surfing locations on all of the Hawaiian Islands. It’s not an easy place to surf and only experts you surf here. Other Kauai locations that offer great surfing include Cannons, Kalihiwai, Kalapaki, Infinities, and Kealia.
Fortunately you don’t have to arrive on Kauai knowing how to surf. You can simply learn when you arrive! That is right, there are plenty of surfing schools that will be more than willing to set you up and teach you how to surf. The following surfing schools are great places to contact if you want to learn. Learn to Surf Another good surfing school is the Margo Oberg Surfing School. She was a surfing champion and provides two hours of surf lessons for $50. There are a variety of instructors that work there so you may or may not get the former surfing champion as your instructor. Yet another surf school is Windsurf Kauai. This company provides a 90 minute lesson for $60 at Hanalei Bay. After your lesson you can keep the surf board until the end of the day.
